Call for Paper Special Issue"C1 Synthetic Biology"
  • Introduction
Under the framework of synthetic biology, C1 bioconversion technology has emerged as a critical driver for advancing green biomanufacturing and sustainable development. Scientists are dedicated to developing cell factories that utilize C1 compounds (e.g., CO?, CH?, methanol) as feedstocks, creating highly efficient and carbon-atom-economic metabolic pathways to convert these compounds into bio-based products such as energy sources, food, fine chemicals, and natural product molecules. The advancement of C1 bioconversion technology not only facilitates the green transition of energy systems and alleviates fossil energy crises but also supports the achievement of "dual-carbon" goals and establishes new raw material routes for the biomanufacturing industry. This field holds profound scientific value and societal significance. Additionally, C1 bioconversion research plays a pivotal role in advancing carbon neutrality and promoting environmental sustainability.

In light of this, Synthetic Biology will launch a special issue titled "C1 Synthetic Biology." This issue will showcase the multifaceted applications of synthetic biology in C1 bioconversion technologies and highlight groundbreaking research achievements in the field, offering readers in-depth insights.

    Themes
The special issue will cover, but is not limited to, the following topics:
Design, Construction, and Optimization of C1 Metabolic Pathways
Development of C1 Cell Factories and Enabling Technologies
C1 Feedstock Bioconversion Processes and Equipment
    Techno-Economic Analysis of C1 Biomanufacturing
AI-Driven Design and Precision Engineering of C1 Artificial Enzymes
