如图4所示,美国在关键底层技术方面遥遥领先于其他国家,在医药健康、化工材料等应用领域也保持较强竞争力。中国的合成生物学研究主要集中在技术应用方面,在化工材料领域具有明显优势,在医药健康领域与美国并驾齐驱,同时在能源环保和农业食品领域也处于领先地位。印度在医药健康领域表现突出,位居中美之后。德国、日本和英国虽然在各个领域都有所涉足,但与中美相比仍存在显著差距。
