如图6所示，全球合成生物学专利申请量整体呈上升趋势。2005年至2020年期间，年申请量保持在4000项左右的稳定水平，而2021年开始出现大幅增长，这主要归因于中国专利申请的增长。中国的专利申请呈显著上升趋势，并于2015年超越美国成为申请数量最多的国家。尽管美国和日本在该领域布局较早，但其专利申请量呈下降趋势。与此同时，韩国的专利申请量稳步增长，而德国、法国和英国则保持稳定。
